EMILY MEGAN YOUNG CHAPMAN

VIRIDIS AEGOCEROS
(Green Capricorn)

CREATURE DESIGN

Their green coats are an evolutionary response to give them the ability to camouflage themselves within the dense forest.

The green hues are also enhanced by the growth of algae which is a symbiotic relationship. (Atmospheric water condenses on their fur which creates a hydroponic grove for algae to be cultivated)

This algae can also be digested by the Capricorns as extra nutrition, and often fed to their young and to bond with other members, similar to grooming primates.

Their horns are both decorative, defensive and useful for uprooting, along with their claw-like feet with tough nail structures.
Male horns are used for sparring with other males.
